Hi all
Well its been a while since our last post however we’re very happy to say its all because of a certain little someone!
Andrew Walter Culshaw was born on 22nd April 2007 at 06.55am weighing in at 7lb 11oz.
He’s certainly turned our world upside down, but he is an absolute angel… during the day at least however at night he doesn’t really like to sleep alone.
On an average night we might get around 2 hours sleep and thats going up to bed at around 10.30 after a feed giving up at around 7.30am.
His favourite place is on our chests all curled up but obviously we cant sleep while hes there, so we try and put him in his cot, moses basket or carseat when we’ve been getting desperate, putitng him in with the dogs is plan B
The thing is, within 10 minutes of putting him down he starts to yell, now weve tried leaving him, comforting him with a dummy, putting our hand in the cot, swaddling him, tucking him in and putting him in a baby grobag, winding him just in case but nothing seems to work.
We also think he has had a bit of colic too, which joyfully plays up in the evening/night time. Colic for those who don’t know turns any baby into a 110dB siren from evening to morning…nice!
At present though he’s lying, blissfully unaware of the chaos he’s causing, fast asleep in his moses basket and has been there for almost an hour and a half.
All this said we wouldn’t change him for the world… he’s a sweetheart.
The funny thing is daddy, for the last 36 years has had a problem sleeping and usually sits up ’til sometime between 3am and 5am (he says all the best telly is on during the night and doesn’t see the point in sleep as it’s a waste). Now this isn’t a a recent thing, his mum says hes always been like this since year dot but… since Andrew was born daddy has come up to bed and come midnight, bang! passes out not to woken by anything not even the screaming Andrew at the side of him… hmmm.
At Andrews last weigh-in less than 2 weeks old he had put on 2ozs which is pretty good going for a newborn baby.
Well, we will try to keep you updated and post regularly in between fog-horn style blasts, smells and such and we will post some more photos soon.
Bye for now…. S+C=A ~:)

Well last night around 8pm I started to get contractions, very slight ones granted, by around 11pm they were coming every half an hour and a little stronger and by 1.30 this morning they were lasting around 35-45 seconds and 2 minutes apart, now you’re told that if you get around 3 contractions in 10 mins then its time to ring the delivery suite and find out what to do next…

Well I got the results back for the glucose test that I had on Friday and everythings normal, well as normal as it can be for me.
I can stop pricking my finger which is good news as its starting to look like a pin cushion, interesting though, it can make you feel really guilty when you eat a cake and you see in the next test that the reading is high and i noticed when i tried to not eat for 3 hours and started to get shakey that the reading was below normal. All a bit boring really but it gave me something to think about for the last few days…

Well its a day after our due date and theres no signs yet.
Your told when your given your due date that it is just a date and if baby doesn’t arrive on that date that its quite normal, and statistically only 5% actually arrive on their due date…10% before term (37 weeks) 80% during the 37-42 week mark and the rest after 42 weeks…well that may be right but when you get to your due date you feel like your about to burst but with still no signs, you begin to get a bit fed up…
