We’ve started weaning
September 3rd, 2007
So, the health visitor came round on the 21st August and after listening to my ‘the child won’t sleep’ speech, she’s given us the go ahead to start weaning Andrew, yay
Now, we tried the baby rice again and I think thats a definte no go and personally I agree with Andrew, the stuff is bloomin’ awful but thankfully he loves rusk, so for the time being he’s on rusk for breakfast and starting this week he’s getting into mummys home made carrot, parsnip and sweet potato for lunch (recipes out of the Annabelle Karmel cook book I picked up a few weeks ago.)
I know its only food but I get really excited to see him try new things, I’ve made butternut squash puree and some apple, pear and cinnamon and as they keep in the freezer for 6-8 weeks i’ll be trying those in the next couple of weeks.
The only thing is finding the time to make things fresh as his attention span for anything is less than 10 minutes, ever tried peeling, chopping, cooking, pureeing and sticking the stuff into ice cube trays in that time, it doesn’t really add up but Im having a good go at it anyway.
Anyway I’m pretty sure this isn’t as exciting to read as I’m finding it but hey its an update all the same.
Oh and he’s just over 4 months now but we’ve had to put him in 6-9 month grows and vest as the 3-6 ones were starting to pull at his toes, see what an exciting life we have, it is an excuse for more cute clothes though
thanks to Stevens mum for all the clothes and stuff she gets for us, we love it. Thanks mum X
Thats all I’m afraid catcha all soon X
