Our Wedding Weekend…
Where is it?Our wedding weekend will be held at Wedderburn Castle, Duns, on the Scottish Borders. The castle and lands of Wedderburn have been in the hands of the Home family from the 14th century to the present day. Originally a fortified tower house stood on the site, and it is recorded that Mary Queen of Scots stayed here on her way to survey the construction of the English defensive walls at Berwick-upon-Tweed. The present house incorporates the walls of the tower house and was built between 1770 and 1778 for Patrick Home. Our hosts, Georgina and her son David Home are still in residence at their ancestral family home to this day.
When is it?Our wedding weekend starts at 4:00pm on Friday 30th June. The wedding ceremony will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday 1st July and we will all be in residence until we leave at 12:00pm noon Sunday 2nd July.
What’s it all about?
Our wedding of course. Also, it’s a top weekend, in a castle, with a small group of special people who can take the opportunity to kick-back, chill and enjoy taking a little time-out.
